• Positive for S.haematobium (bilharzia) = 25% (SH/BV / Total Pats x 100)
• Positive for Trichomonas vaginalis = 7% (TV / Total Pats x 100)
• Total urines with general infection = 61% (Micro-GB / Total Pats x 100)

Stool analysis

• Total number of stool tests = 5306
• Dysentery = 23% (WBC /Total Pats x 100)
• S.Mansoni (bilharzia) = 9% (SM / Total Pats x 100)

Microbiology

Total Cerebral Spinal Fluid tests for meningitis = 91

Sputum analysis for Tuberculosis.

• Out of total of 300 patients tested, 22 (7%) were positive

Gram stain:

• Total cervical/vaginal smears = 84

Community Health Statistics

The Community Health team (l'Équipe Santé Communautaire) now work in 17 village centres, serving a population of over 37,000 people.

The under-5 mortality rate for these 17 village centres together is 210 per 1000 (21%) but in some villages is as high as 312 per 1000 (31%) i.e. almost one in three children die before their fifth birthday.

Malaria and diarrhoea constitute over 50% of under-5 deaths.
